Carrier billing: the payment method every subscriber already has
Cards and wallets need sign-ups, top-ups and trust. A mobile balance needs none of that. Why charging through AppLink converts, and how the money reaches you.
Ask a hundred people to pay ৳10 for something on a website and many will stop at the payment step: no card, a wallet that is not linked, or no wish to type their details into a site they found five minutes ago. Every one of those hundred people has a mobile balance. Carrier billing charges that balance, and that is the single biggest reason paid services on AppLink convert.
Two ways to charge
- Subscription API: a recurring charge from ৳1 to ৳70 per cycle, daily or monthly, that renews until the subscriber leaves. AppLink notifies you when someone joins or leaves.
- CaaS: a one-off charge from ৳2 to ৳10, approved by an OTP the subscriber enters, and confirmed to your server by a charging notification.
Why it converts
- No account to create. The subscriber's number is the account.
- Clear consent. The code arrives on the subscriber's own phone, so approval is deliberate and easy to trust.
- Small amounts feel small. ৳2 a day is an easy yes; a ৳60 annual card payment is a decision.
- It reaches feature phones. SMS and USSD services bill exactly the same way as a smartphone app.
How the money reaches you
Banglalink bills the subscriber and shares the revenue with you. Your share follows the revenue your app makes each month: 40% under ৳50,000, 45% from ৳50,000 to ৳99,999, and 50% at ৳100,000 and above, settled after applicable regulatory taxes. There is no payment gateway to integrate, no merchant account to open and no chargeback process to run.
A worked example
Take a daily alert service at ৳2 a day with 1,500 active subscribers. That is ৳2 × 30 days × 1,500 = ৳90,000 of revenue in a month, which lands in the 45% band, so your share is ৳40,500 before taxes. Grow past ৳100,000 a month and the whole month's revenue is shared at 50%. The earnings estimator on the pricing page runs the same sum with your own numbers.
